Non-urgent advice: Dispensing Notice

To prescribe medication safely we require 48 hours’ notice.

Please ensure you order your medication on time bearing this in mind.

Online Ordering

You are able to order your repeat medication using our online services. Please ask at Reception about the registration process. If you were previously registered, you will need to re-register due to our new computer system.

Repeat Dispensing

If you are on regular medication and have been on this medication for some time. You may be able to sign up to our repeat dispensing scheme. This allows a chemist of your choice to hold 6-12 months’ worth of prescriptions at one time. It means every month you only have to go to your chemist to collect your medication and saves you having to order if from the surgery. Ask reception for details.

Electronic Prescriptions

The practice now provides an electronic prescription service where patients can nominate a chemist to pick their medication up from and once the prescription has been ordered it will go electronically to your elected chemist ready for them to dispense. This means no more paper prescriptions to pick up or lose. If you would like to sign up for this service please ask our reception team.

Medication Requests

Please request your repeat medication on the due date as we will be unable to process the request any sooner. If the request is ordered earlier than this date it will be rejected, and you will be asked to re-order on the due date.

Emergency Medication

If you need an emergency supply of your repeat medication you can access this from your regular pharmacy via the Emergency Medication scheme.

Prescription Query

If you have a question surrounding the medication you have been prescribed please use our Online Services to contact the surgery, alternatively call the practice and speak to one of the reception team who will be happy to help. Please note there are a lot of medication shortages currently which we are doing our best to navigate. Check your prescription on collection, if there is anything missing please firstly query this with the Pharmacist as they have a duty to fulfil the prescription. If they have not got stock of a particular medicine we will try and find an alternative.
